With love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Deanna J. Smith, who died September 15, 2025, and her beloved husband Paul V. Smith, who died June 11, 2025.
Deanna J. (Mansfield) Smith, 81, formerly of Winter Haven, FL, died September 15, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born December 17, 1943, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Clarence and Betty (Murphy) Mansfield. Before moving to Florida, where she lived for 27 years, she had been a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was the Office Manager for Dr. Michael Morgan, DDS. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.
Deanna is survived by her two children, daughter Shaila Worley and son Seán Smith; two sisters, Barbara (William) Landkrohn and Christine (Mark) La Croix; nephews William Landkrohn, Brian Landkrohn, Timothy Kanavel, David Kanavel and Nathan Kanavel; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Geoffrey Mansfield and Richard Mansfield.
Paul V. Smith, 90, died June 11, 2025, in Winter Haven, FL. He was born February 20, 1935, in Roanoke, VA, a son of the late Howard H. and Verna (Winn) Smith. He managed the Zanesville Sherwin Williams for 43 years, and famously composed the music to the Rosecrans Alma Mater. Paul served our country in the Air National Guard for over 20 years.
He is survived by his two children, daughter Shaila Worley and son Seán Smith; a great-niece Lisa Podolnick; and a great-great-niece Zoey Zambito.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Huddleston and a niece, Renee Huddleston.
The family will hold private graveside services at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, where Deanna and Paul will be laid to rest together, with Fr. Dave Young as Celebrant. A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Greenhouse at Vista View. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
