Dorothy M. Clutter

Dorothy M. "Dody" Clutter, 93, formerly of Washington, PA, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in Erie, PA. An avid wildflower collector and nature lover, Dody liked to swim, loved homemade pie, and said that a sandwich always tastes better when someone else makes it. She was born March 3, 1932, in Washington, PA, daughter of the late Arthur Clyde Cummins and Ethel Carpenter Cummins. On December 31, 1951, Dody married William R. "Pete" Clutter, who passed away in 2006. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia "Pat" Clutter of Erie, and Sandra "Sam" Clutter of Mt. Lebanon; two grandsons and their families, William McMillen Clutter, Samantha Handley, Sadie Clutter, and Ian Clutter of Evanston, IL, and Matthew McLain Clutter, Rebekka Kuhn, and Denis Clutter of Ann Arbor, MI.; daughter-in-law Lynn Campsey of Avon Lake, Ohio; one sister, Mona Lesnock of Washington; and Frankie Garrison of Washington, a dear friend of the family. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are her son, William R. Clutter, Jr., one daughter, Cheryl Ann Clutter; three brothers, Robert Cummins, Charles Cummins, and baby James Cummins; and six sisters, Frances Lytton, Shirley Phillips, Betty Sprowls, Mary Pettit, Judy McDonough, and Maureen Main. The family would particularly like to thank Mary Ebach, Sue Boehm, Lori Gadley, and Lisa Mikovich, as well as Interim Healthcare of Erie Hospice and Saint Mary's Home of Erie, for the wonderful care they provided to Dody. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546.
