Earl Walter Laney

Earl Walter Laney, age 70, a lifelong resident of Norman, Indiana, passed away at his residence. He was born on April 1, 1953 to the late Charles Laney and the late Callie (Mullins) Laney. He was a Christian by faith. He served for over 48 years with the Owen/Salt Creek Fire Department and was currently serving as the Fire Chief. He was quite the jokester and loved telling a good story. He enjoyed rabbit hunting and the outdoors.
He is survived by his two sons, Toby Laney and Chad Laney of Norma, Indiana, his fiance, Susan Heller of Brownstown, Indiana and one grandson, Logan Laney, He is also survived by the "family hound", Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Donna Alexander.
In keeping with his wishes, the family has chosen cremation and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
