Earl Whitfield Obituary
Born March 3, 1938, in Anderson, he was a son of the late Daniel Levis Whitfield, Sr. and Grace Inez Griffin Whitfield. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donnie Whitfield, Levis Whitfield, Jr., Gary Whitfield, and infant brother Joyce Ralph Whitfield; and sisters, Gloria Meredith and Martha Helen Whitfield.
Earl was retired from Kroger Bakery with over 30 years of service to the company. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed country music, visiting Nashville, and working his vegetable garden. He and his wife loved traveling long distances and had visited 48 states. Earl loved NASCAR and was known for his brand new cars and his sideburns. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice Powell Whitfield; brother, Gerald Whitfield; sister, Mary Ellen Nalley; and beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will greet guests immediately following the service.
