Edward Arthur Lau, 78, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023.
He was born in Shawano, Wisconsin on August 30, 1945, to Arthur and Evelyn Lau.
Ed served as a cook in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. Upon returning, he met the love of his life, Wanda. They lived happily together for 49 years until her passing in May of 2023.
He loved volunteering and giving to others. As the President of Pacesetters Running Club, he created a fundraising walk benefitting St. Joseph’s Food Pantry. He also helped start the Fox Cities Marathon and participated in the marathon too, he was an avid runner.
Even after Wanda passed, Ed was still active, often going to the Timber Rattler’s games with their daughter, Andrea. He also loved his weekly meals at the Vets and Friends in Appleton.
No matter what curve ball life threw him he kept fighting for another day with a smile on his face. Before his passing he spent one good day with his daughter eating him and Wanda’s favorite meal, a Whopper, on what would have been their 50th anniversary.
Fly high on the wings of angels' dad, I will miss you. Now you and Mom can be together forever.
