Emma Lee Squire-Lewis, a beloved resident of New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the remarkable age of 109. Emma was a treasured matriarch, a loving mother, and a grandmother who dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She was a true beacon of light. She walked through life with a gentle strength touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her unforgettable grace. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Emma was born on November 17, 1915, to the union of Mark Sr. and Josephine Squire of Deerford (Zachary) LA. She was the eldest of six children and she was the only girl. She relocated to New Orleans in 1931, with her family, where she remained a resident. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of James Chapel Baptist Church for over four decades, serving as a deaconess and sharing her love for God with all those around her. The joy of the Lord was her strength. Her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted mother and grandmother. She was the proud mother of six children, three sons and three daughters. She dedicated her life to being a loving mother and a cherished grandmother, spanning six generations. Her utmost priority was always taking care of her family and providing them with unwavering support and unconditional love. Her role as a mother extended beyond her immediate family, as she was aUectionately referred to as "MoMe" by many. Her strength, love and words of encouragement will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. MoMe's impact on her family and friends was immense, as she touched the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and compassion. Her nurturing spirit and selfless dedication to her family made her truly special. In her lifetime, she faced many trials with unwavering strength and grace. She was preceded in death by her parents Josephine and Mark Squire Sr., her grandparents, Issac and Martha Squire, Louis and Harriet Johnson, her brothers, Joseph, Johnny, Mark Jr., Fredrick and Eddie Squire, her sons, James Anderson Sr. and Henry Fletcher, her grandchildren, James Jr., Herbert, and Chris Anderson, Dwayne Washington Sr. and Albert Lewis Jr., her great grandsons, Mitchel Smith and Jason Anderson, Her great-great grandchildren, Jasmine Anderson and Shad Grigley and her son-in-law Glen Henry. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Carolyn Anderson, Rose Henry, JoAnn Cagnolatti and Albert (Linda) Lewis Sr., a granddaughter she raised Trina Lewis, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sincere condolences, dear family. Though Cousin Emma Lee was one person, a thousand cannot fill the void. She left a legacy of love and kindness, compassion and inspiration and joy and faith, a blueprint for how to make this world a better place. I know she is resting with Jesus. And on your journey from grief to joy, may God comfort you, and give you His Peace.

God Has Called Queen Tee home. The Queen of the Squire Family. To God Be The Glory for allowing me to be a part of her story.

She was the "Sweetest Aunt" to me. Just so you know, I was her Favorite Niece, she always had a quarter and a hug, just for me, smile.

I will Always Love & Miss You "Queen Tee" Save a seat for me.

Aunt Tee could recognize your voice right-off. it seems she never lost her hearing. During the time she was answering the phone, she'd call your name right out. She was sharp. She took care of my Daddy from birth to the grave.
They would call each other every day, I mean "every day". Yea, I'm talking about Uncle Buddy, I'm Wanda, the second oldest of Buddy's children.
Praying for our family.
