Ernest Eugene "Ernie" Fellers III

Mr. Ernest E (Ernie) Fellers III, age 77, of Gainesville, GA passed away Friday January 5th, 2024.
Ernie was born on May 30, 1946, in Augusta, GA to the late Mr. Ernest E (Bo) Fellers Jr. and Mrs. Clennice Usry Fellers.
Ernie graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta and The University of Georgia. Ernie started Northeast Georgia Sporting Goods which later became Archie's Sporting goods. He spent many years helping children with the Department of Family and Children Services and retired from the State of Georgia in 2010. He continued his business 'Trophies and Awards' throughout his retirement. Ernie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville where he spent 25 years in the Sanctuary Choir and a number of years participating in the Living Christmas Tree Performances. He was an active member in his community most recently serving as President of the Mended Hearts Program through the Northeast Georgia Health System Auxiliary. His greatest passions in life were his family, his church, the Masters Golf Tournament and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Eleene Fellers of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Sam Sliger of Gainesville and Emily and Tracey Brown of Commerce; grandchildren Bo and Sloane Sliger, brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Kay Fellers of Athens, GA, niece, Sharon (Bo) Brownlow of Kennesaw, GA and many nieces and nephews. He never met a stranger and had many close friends including Bob Page.
The family will receive friends Saturday January 13, 2024 following the service in the church parlor. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 13, 2024 at First Baptist Church Chapel with Reverend Dr. Jeremy Shoulta and Reverend Mark Green.
