My deepest condolences to Tex's family, friends and especially to his treasured wife, Bonnie (particularly when she gave him control of the 70 incher).
Everybody should strive to live their life in a such a way, that when they pass away, 100's of strangers tear up and instantly miss him. I can tell you "Tex" sure did.
To Bonnie, I can't imagine your grieve right now, but I can assure you he adored you. That came across loud and clear.
I can't speak for everybody at Bleacher Nation, but a lot of us want to thank you for sharing "Tex" with us for all these years.
Godspeed.

Hello. I just want to say how sorry & bummed I am for the loss of your loved one whom we all knew as "Tex" on the BN Cubs comment board. He always made our day with his kind words or just a "Good morning everyone" or "Morning everybody". We could tell He loved his daughters & Mama Tex very much by some of his posts. It´s already not the same without him there, so I can only imagine how y´all must feel. I hope you can take some comfort in the positivity that he spread & the way he touched us all over there. Let´s hope his quotes that "The Cubs will surprise" will ring true at some point. I go by Cubs Waves Tex-ist. The Tex-ist is my tribute to him. Thanks for letting me share this. Rich, from suburbs of Chicago, IL. God be with you all.

Ernie (Tex) was a good friend to us at Bleachernation. He had big heart and a great sense of humor.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Ernesto, but we grew to be friends through our common love of the Chicago Cubs. He was a kind man, who loved his family and offered words of encouragement to all. God bless you Tex.

"Tex", as he was known to the rest of his fellow Cubs fan maniacs on Bleacher Nation, was one of the most positive and joyful Cub fans. He shared with the Cubs community not only his love of our beloved Cubs, but just how committed he was to "Momma Tex" and his family. So proud of them all. As a dedicated teacher I have no doubt he was also committed to his students.
The outpouring of love on Bleacher Nation for Tex has been incredible. We lost a good one, and my thoughts are with his family.
