Essie L. "Jean E." Smith (nee Blevins), age 95, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023. She is the beloved wife of the late Harry W. Smith, Jr.; devoted mother of Harry W. Smith, III and his wife Dale Smith, Connie Rothfus and her late husband Mel Rothfus, and Karen Hall and her husband Kaiser Hall; loving grandmother of Jason Hall (Kimberly), Zachary Rothfus (Sabrina), Harry Lipford (Tiffiny), Kimberly White (Richard), and Shannon Brice (Linn); great grandmother of Brynlee Hall, Landon Hall, Caiden Hall, Melina Rothfus, Zain Rothfus, Seth Brice, Nate Brice and Kaci White; also survived by other family members and friends.
A viewing will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Ave, Essex MD 21221 on Monday, March 20 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 21 at 11am followed by burial at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
