Frances A. Gordon Herring

I am told my Aunt Frances bought me my first pair of shoes. I don't remember of course but I am still thankful and love a new pair of shoes to this day. I also remember her scrubbing a pair of white tennis shoes for her grandson Ray in the kitchen sink. She scrubbed until they were perfectly white again and looked brand new. It wasn't the shoes that I remember as much as the thought of how much she must love Ray to care so much. Or maybe she just knew how special a nice pair of shoes can make a person feel.
She was like that.
I hope my memory of such love and generosity paints a picture of how wonderful she was and that she will always be remembered that way.
