Franklin Delano "Frank" Riffle

Franklin "Frank" Delano Riffle, 75, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away in his home, Saturday, July 1, 2023. Born on January 11, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of Carl Wilton and Myrtle Marie (Blosser) Riffle.
Frank proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam war as a paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was awarded the Purple Heart along with other distinguished medals and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #192, Temperance, MI.
After graduating from Bedford High School in 1966, He married the love of his life, Carol M. Adams on March 9. 1968 in Valley Station Kentucky (Ft. Knox).
Franklin was employed with South County Water System as one of the first of four employees, retiring as the Superintendent in 2005 with 35 years of service.
Frank was a devoted husband, father, G-pa, grandpa, Papa. He loved spending time on family camping trips, holiday gatherings and family vacations with his wife and all his kids, grandkids and great-grand kids.
Frank also enjoyed coaching youth sports in Bedford, including 3B baseball, GLWC Wrestling, Community Education Girls softball and basketball. He was also an avid golfer and a member of Maple Grove Golf Course.
Additionally, Frank was awarded the Michigan Minuteman Citation of Honor for his outstanding service to Michigan. This award is given to those citizens who go the extra mile to ensure the betterment of their community and the great state of Michigan.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marsha Wingate; brothers, Steven and Gilbert Riffle.
Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Carol Riffle; children, Carrie (Edward) Skelly, Cristey (Dan) Sparks, Bill (Emily) Riffle; grandchildren, Ashley (Chuck) Browne, Brianna (Phil Bridges) Sparks, Caden and Cora Riffle; great-grandchildren, Ava Sparks, Alaya and Aria Browne; brothers, Alonzo, Michael and Terry Riffle; sister-in-laws, Mary Riffle and Sherri Milano and other relatives and friends.
Visitation at the Michael W. Pawlak funeral home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman Rd.) Temperance, Michigan will be held on Thursday July 6, 2023, beginning at 2:00 pm and Eulogy/Prayer at 5:45 pm. At 6:00 pm Military Honors will be held,
Interment services will be private.
