Obituary
On July 1st 2023 Gail Edith Taylor of Coventry Rhode Island left this world and and left behind a lifetime of struggle and physical challenges at HopeHealth Hospice of Providence Rhode Island surrounded by her loved ones and earned her wings. Gail was born and raised in Hartford Ct. and was a 1965 graduate of Hartford High School in Hartford Connecticut, a former proofreader of Aetna insurance company in Hartford Ct. and a volunteer for the Disabilities Network of Eastern Connecticut in Franklin Ct. for many years. She is survived by her son John Taylor of Waterford Ct. and wife Kathy, daughter Rebecca Bergin of Coventry RI and husband James and two beautiful granddaughters Haley Marie Taylor of Waterford Ct. and Hannah Rose Anderson-Taylor of Coventry RI. She is predeceased by her parents father William B. Andersen, mother Anna A. (Ianniello) Andersen and predeceased by siblings Marie A. (Andersen) Savage, James W. Andersen, and Lorna A. (Andersen) Bower.
Gail was a survivor of the polio epidemic in 1949, living in an iron lung for six months and growing up in and out of hospitals. This experience would plague her throughout her life, affecting her health and lungs resulting in many challenges throughout her life. She was a strong woman and a survivor, raising two children amid great physical difficulties. She is admired for her strength and resiliency, her sense of humor through all of life's struggles passing this gift on through her children and grandchildren. She is greatly loved and will be missed...
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations to HopeHealth Hospice of Providence Rhode Island at 1085 North Main St. Providence RI. can be made in her memory.

It's been a year without you, Auntie. The world still turns, life goes on, but there will always be a piece missing with you gone. Please give hugs to all those we love who are with you. Thank you for being my Auntie.

Auntie - you are one of the best people I have had the privilege to know. Your kindness and sense of humor were beyond measure! Rest in peace Auntie, knowing that your time here positively affected countless others, despite the incredible obstacles in your life's path. You are sorely missed. Much love! Sheila A.

Mom, I don´t think I ever really thought about or gave you enough credit for all your strength and resiliency. Your life, though difficult at times, was always peppered with humor and laughter. You taught me the ability to appreciate the simple things in life, helping me learn that in the end they really are the big things. Thank you for this gift. If you didn´t know your value before, I hope you know it now. Thank you for the humor.....fly free, I love you. ~ Me
