I met Gay when she was doing feeding therapy with ladies at Bender Terrace. My Aunt was at the table when Gay was helping other ladies. She would also help other ladies around the table and each one of the ladies gained weight due to Gay´s abilities. I am a Masters level SLP but was never trained in feeding so I was amazed at her skills. We became friends and I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I have prayed for you Kelly as Gay `sang your praises.´

Leo

April 14, 2024

Mrs.Attebury was a HUGE part of little Leo's healing. Leo was 5 years old when his dad died and Mrs.Attebury was an ear and a comforting hug during that time. Then little Leo's uncle, cousin, and Grandpa died Leomiyah really leaned on Mrs.Attebury for laughs and peace. She was his highlight for his school days at the school. When we found out she would no longer be working there, we pulled Leo out as well. He doesn't have a lot of family, so, he adopted her as his ", Grandma" they talked on the phone, she gave him gifts for his birthday, she loves my baby and he loves her. Mrs.Attebury will be forever in his heart because she loved him when she didn't have too. Her loving, gentle, caring, kindness will be carried with him for the rest of his life! The impact she made on my child In the 6 years he knew her, will be life long cherished moments.

Gay was always a hoot whenever we were able to visit with her. She would come into the office and would always be sure to make every person smile and laugh. She sure was quick witted and would keep us on our toes.
She and I would talk about her family, trips, and I feel like I remember her mentioning dogs once. No matter what was going on in her daily life, she would always treat us with so much kindness and respect. She even sent a box full of sweets to us randomly and it definitely made our day.
She spoke about loving her career and all the people she would meet and help. She even mentioned the love for her past careers.

We will definitely miss seeing her around and hearing her laughter.
Mrs. Gay, you were such a light in our lives and I thank you for being so loving and just a great human being. Prayers going out to the family and loved ones.

I absolutely loved Gay. She was a bright spot in this world and touched so many lives. Gay was a fantastic cook and an amazing speech therapist. She loved her. husband Kelly, her kids, and grandkids so much and was incredibly proud of them. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Gay and I worked together at TTUHSC SON. Whenever I saw her, she always had a big smile and a funny story to share. (I still have a tiny troll doll on my desk that she gave me "just because" and tiny bottles of Tabasco she gave me in my kitchen window to remind me of her great cooking.) We've kept in touch through Facebook over the years. She always shared with me her love for Kelly, Robyn, Taylor, and her grandchildren. She was so proud of all her family. She was a sweet, caring, compassionate woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
