Gena Hackney

It was sad to hear of Gena's passing. Gena and I met about 1987 when I moved to the Lake Minnetonka area. She and I were both interested in politics, and we bonded over that interest, and our shared Christian faith.
I am fond of saying Gena was one of the few people I knew who moved as many times as I had moved. When I first met Gena, she and her two children were living on Excelsior Bay on Lake Minnetonka. Then they moved to Minnewashta before purchasing a house on Crystal Bay. Then, after many years, she and her family all moved back to Deephaven, where they had lived in two different houses before I met her. We enjoyed being Cottagewood neighbors, and she would often walk or drive by my cottage to stop and visit. She will be missed.
