George Clarence Miller, 76, went home to be with his savior Jesus on Monday, February 3, 2025, while at home in Marshalltown. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2025, at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax, IA. Anderson Funeral Home of Marshalltown has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.
George was born October 18, 1948, in Colfax. He was the sixth of eight children born to Earl and Inona "Nonie" Miller.
At the tender age of eight George suffered a tragic accident being hit by a drunk driver while riding a bike in Clive, IA. After six months in a coma George began the long and painful journey of learning how to live with physical and intellectual challenges. Relearning to walk, talk, eat and so much more. While many would have laid down and given up in the face of such challenges George never did.
While there was pain and much difficulty George lived his life to the fullest; he traveled, held a job for many years, met his dear Barb and fell in love, had many friends, participated in the Special Olympics and cherished his family, often staying for short visits with them through the years. His nieces and nephews all grown today cherish the memories of his visits to their homes during their childhoods.
To know George was to know a jokester who was an avid Elvis fan and was constantly working his loom to make potholders for anyone and everyone.
Left to cherish George and all the love he gave to us are his siblings; Lydia Shipley of Des Moines, Kenny Miller (Betty) of Des Moines and Jackie Cannon of Creston and a host of nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Earl "Sonny" Miller, sister Virginia Sprouse, brother Raymond Miller and sister Jeannie Brinkley.
