A Memorial Service for Harlan will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in
Geneva, Nebraska with Pastor Tim Stacy presiding.
No visitation will be held as it was Harlan's wishes to be cremated.
Military Graveside Services will be conducted following the Memorial Service at the Geneva Public Cemetery in
Geneva, Nebraska.
Memorials are to be directed to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church or the Geneva Senior Center.

Harlan Walter Fangmeyer was born to Henry and Lorna (Gerberding) Fangmeyer on August 17, 1933 near
Deshler, Nebraska, and passed away on November 23, 2023 at Fairview Manor in
Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 90.
Harlan grew up on a farm Northeast of
Hubbell, Nebraska and was the second oldest of 4 children in the family. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in
Deshler, Nebraska on August 27, 1933 by Reverend Schwerin. On June 2, 1946, he was Confirmed in rural
Hubbell, Nebraska at Zion Lutheran Church. Harlan graduated his 8th grade year from Boyd School District 29 in 1947 and then attended Reynolds High School, graduating in 1951. He joined our United States of America Army in December of 1954 as a Radar Operator in Alaska and was Honorably Discharged in 1956.
After completing his high school education, Harlan worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot in
Hastings, Nebraska one winter. He then worked at Ford Garage in
Hebron, Nebraska until a Tornado destroyed that building. With the Ford building being destroyed he decided to take a job working at a Service Station in
Hebron, Nebraska until he was drafted in to the Army. After serving our country Harlan worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas for one year then worked on a farm with Arthur Behrends for Mary Krenke. Harlan then attended college at Milford Technical School in 1959 where he excelled in electronics graduating in 1961.
On June 4, 1960, he married the love of his life, Alice Shepek, at First Presbyterian Church in Narka, Kansas and to them 3 children were born; Allen Lee, Harlan Brent and Susan Ann.
After completing his college degree, he began working in TV and radio repair in
Geneva, Nebraska. He then took a job with Kaneb Pipeline, as a summer job first, which then lead to his long career with Kaneb Pipeline. He worked at several positions working his way up the ladder to Area Superintendent working in
Denver, Colorado and then back to
Geneva, Nebraska until his retirement on January 31, 2001, working for Kaneb for 37 ½ years.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Alice Fangmeyer; sons, Allen Fangmeyer and Brent (Diane) Fangmeyer; daughter, Susan (Tony) Reinsch; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lorna (Gerberding) Fangmeyer and daughter-in-law, Eileen Fangmeyer.
