Harold Monroe Bone, 67, of Byron, passed away on July 7, 2025. Funeral services to honor his life will be held on Thursday, July 10, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, with Pastor, Jerry Garner officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
Mr. Bone was born on March 17, 1958, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. Harold Troy Bone and Mrs. Laura Elaine Grant Bone. He retired from Blue Bird Body Company and Sunbelt Plastics. From a young age, Mr. Bone developed a deep passion for motocross-a love that only grew stronger over the years. This enthusiasm eventually led him to become a partial owner of the Echeconnee Motocross track, a role he embraced with pride and dedication. Beyond motocross, Mr. Bone found great satisfaction in maintaining his yard, taking pride in every detail of his outdoor space. An all-around sports enthusiast, he especially enjoyed running and participating in triathlons, demonstrating both physical endurance and mental determination. A proud Bulldogs fan, he followed the team with enthusiasm and never missed a chance to cheer them on.
Above all else, the role that meant the most to him was being "Poppy." It was a title he wore with immense pride and deep affection. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he found his greatest joy in creating lasting memories with them. Whether it was building them a custom playhouse with his own hands or overseeing the construction of an inground pool just for their enjoyment, he poured his heart into giving them a place where they could laugh, play, and feel loved. For him, being "Poppy" wasn't just a name-it was his legacy.
Left to cherish Mr. Bone's memory are his wife of 27 years, Andrea Dees Bone; children, Dwayne Bone (Christina), Jennifer Bone, Christy Power (Drew), Staci Bennett; grandchildren, Jesse, Hadley, Joe, and Miles; sister, Alana Livingston; numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made in Mr. Bone's memory to: The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society at https://www.lls.org/
