HELEN COPMAN Obituary

COPMAN, Helen Lillian (Daniels) Proud and happy resident of Newton for 60+ years, formerly of Dorchester, entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2016 at age 92 after a short but fierce battle with lung cancer. She was the greatly adored and devoted daughter of Isadore and Ann (Cohen) Daniels, originally from Poland. Our beautiful and elegant mother, a woman of grace, style, and class with a lovely sense of humor, leaves us, her loving and heartbroken daughters, Donna Lee and Sandra Copman, both of North Grafton. No one could have asked or wished for a more loving and lovable, strong and willful, optimistic and precious mother, with a radiant smile and sparkling aquamarine eyes that captivated everyone fortunate enough to meet her. We grew up accepting that we would have to share her with many friends as their surrogate mom! Helen was widowed ten years ago, losing the love of her life, Louis Copman with whom she was the proud co-owner of a commercial engraving business, working shoulder to shoulder for over 50 years while raising her family and joining multiple civic activities like Hadassah and B'nai Brith. Helen and Lou enjoyed a romantic and respectful marriage of 56 years that set the foundation for strong family values. Helen also leaves her devoted niece Susan; loving and dedicated niece Amy and spouse Tony; nephew Kenneth and spouse Eileen; grandnieces Jaclyn, Tammy and Pamela and their spouses; grandnephews Martin and Peter; and several great-grand nephews and nieces. They all loved and respected their delightful Aunt Helen. In addition, she leaves countless friends and loving cousins who will miss her deeply and will never forget her. Now reunited with her darling parents, sweet brother, many other relatives and dear friends, and especially our dad, her best friend and soul mate, she can rest in peace. Services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, CANTON, MA at 12:00 Noon. Interment at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Following services, there will be a Celebration of the Life of Helen Daniels Copman from 3 to 7 PM with details to be announced at services and on Sunday, October 9th, at the late residence of Helen Copman from 4 to 8 PM and continuing on Thursday, October 13th, at the home of Donna Lee and Sandra Copman from 6 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to your favorite charity, a lung cancer organization, or Urban College of Boston, 178 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02111. Dearest Sandi and Donna,

That is the most beautiful obituary I have ever read (can you write mine?). Your Mom led a long life full of love, especially from her two daughters. She is now in a better place, celebrating the Jewish New Year with your Dad.

May time ease your pain and may memories fill your heart.

Love, JoA

Sandi, I know how much your Mom meant for you from what you told me about her and how great she was for your family and many sincere friends she had thru her fulfilling life.

She will be missed for sure but she will always be with you and Donna in your heart. I still have my Mom even if she is sick and I have to let her know more often how much we love her. You are so much the perfect example of love between a mother her children.
Best,Luc

Dear Donna and Sandi,
I really enjoyed working with your mother for the past few years. What struck me most was her sense of humor. When I visited we had a really great time joking around and laughing. I will really miss her. I also enjoyed hearing stories about you both where she would qvell :) You were lucky to have had such a good mother. Best, Abby

Such a beautiful and loving tribute to your special Mom!

Donna, as I know with my own, your extraordinary mother will live on in your heart. I have so often found love, strength, and joy from her memory over the years.

"Sweet as sugar. ". "Night darling." "Chin up". " I love you so much." " Be happy and healthy always ,"
Who will say these things to me now ?
Memories must now keep me strong and sure that in leaving this world in such agony the sweetness and happiness my mom used to know and share to all until recently will be sprinkled over from wherever she is resting. My best friend and hero is gone and I cry inside but I know I was blessed to have had her love. Im happy for that.

We can not change the past and we can not predict the future but we sure can hold our memories, as you two girls Donna and Sande showed to your Mom and of course your Dad, all the love that can be expressed. Love is Eternal!!
Do not be afraid to cry, it does help , after all we are human. God hears us when we cry and feels our pain.
Saying good bye is the most difficult thing in life and we never learn to be good at it.
Knowing Helen Copman was like having a hug from God.

Friend for ever, Tony Ruggelo

Dear Mom,
I love you more than anyone or anything. You had to go because you were fiercely in pain and suffering. Now you're with Daddy and you're both out of the mortal coils of the world. In time we will all be together again.
I miss you so much.
