Helen was born on October 16, 1926 and passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Helen was a resident of Ann Arbor, Michigan at the time of her passing. She attended Ann Arbor public schools and graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1944. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday April 15 2016 at the Nie Family Funeral Home Liberty Road Chapel 3767 W. Liberty Rd. Ann Arbor. Visitation will continue on Saturday April 16 2016 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church 1501 W. Liberty Road Ann Arbor Reverend James Debner officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Helenâs memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.

I write to remember Helen Vogel with great fondness and gratitude. I was raised on Lutz Ave, across the street from the Vogel family home. Helen was my "neighborhood Grandma," and was always so loving, kind, and generous to my sister and I, along with her sister Mary. They shared their gardens with us, their stories, garden gnomes, soft pretzels, seasonal tidings, and lovely easter baskets added enchantment to my childhood experience. I send my sympathy to Helen's family, and hold sweet memories dear to my heart.

We are so sorry to learn of Helen's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May the good memories of the past also comfort you during this time. Sorry that we will not be there for the funeral as we are still in Florida.
