Hilding A. Ross

Uxbridge - Hilding A. Ross, a father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2023, in Uxbridge, MA, after a period of declining health. He was born on June 27, 1960, in Milford, MA.
Hilding was the father to: Tammy Trottier, Amy Dos Santos, Jesse Ross, all of Uxbridge, and Brandon Ross of Rhode Island and grandfather to 7. He was a loving brother to Patricia Richardson and her husband Elias of Uxbridge, Linda Hartnett and her husband Michael of Pascoag, Rhode Island, Alan Ross and his significant other Barbara of Mapleville, Rhode Island and Robert Middleton and his significant other Jennifer, Slatersville, Rhode Island and brother in law to: Gloria Ross and Charlene Ross. Hilding was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and cherished his numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Eleanor (Appellof) Ross, and his brothers, George and Mark Ross.
Hilding worked various jobs at landscaping, masonry and well-drilling.
One of Hilding's passions was building stone walls, many of which can be seen throughout Uxbridge. He was a gifted craftsman whose work will continue to grace the landscape for generations to come. An avid outdoorsman, Hilding loved fishing, the ocean, and anything that allowed him to be outside. He was a fan of Nascar. Hilding was also an avid gardener, whose green thumb was evident in the beautiful and bountiful gardens he cultivated.
Hilding will be remembered for his gentle spirit and kind heart. His love for his family, his commitment to his work, and his passion for the outdoors defined him. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes about his character. He was a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Hilding's life was a testament to the power of kindness, the value of hard work, and the importance of family. His spirit will live on in the stone walls he built, the gardens he nurtured, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will continue to inspire us, remind us of the beauty of nature, and the joy of a life well-lived.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 2 PM at Valley Chapel, 14 Hunter Road, Uxbridge.
