Jacqueline Travis McNally passed away on May 1, 2024, surrounded by her adoring children. Born on May 1, 1931, in the rapidly growing city of Buffalo, NY, Jacqueline, or Jackie as she was fondly known, was destined to be a curious and adventurous soul. From her earliest days, her inquisitive nature knew no bounds, earning her the endearing nickname "The Question Mark" from neighbors who were both amused, and at times annoyed, by her curiosity.

Jackie's educational journey led her to Buffalo Seminary and later to Skidmore College, where she balanced her curiosity with the excitement of newly found independence. Her passion for teaching was initially fulfilled during her time in Fall River, MA, before she embarked on the most rewarding chapter of her life: motherhood. As a mother, Jackie poured her heart and soul into nurturing and preparing her children for life. She instilled in each a thirst to learn, a desire to participate and an appreciation for the value of friendship. Whether she was introducing them to new experiences or gently nudging them out of their comfort zones, Jackie approached motherhood with unwavering dedication and boundless love.

Jackie's can-do spirit was ever present. From crafting to cooking, sailing to skiing, she embraced every challenge that came her way, imbuing each endeavor with her trademark determination. Considered “feisty” by her caregivers at The Birches, she lived her life with enthusiasm and a willingness to always try the road less traveled knowing it often leads to the most extraordinary discoveries.

In her later years, Jackie embarked on new adventures, pursuing a second career in the financial market and earning a master's degree in accounting. Her desire to explore extended beyond the office, as she traveled to far-flung corners of the globe, from the bustling streets of China to the pristine shores of Greenland, all in pursuit of witnessing the beauty of nature firsthand, especially the adorable baby harp seals. Yet, amidst her worldly pursuits, Jackie's greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family. Known as JT to her grandchildren, she delighted in attending their countless activities, cheering them on with the same fervor and enthusiasm she brought to every aspect of her life.

She will be remembered with gratitude for the indelible mark she left on many lives. Her boundless curiosity, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love will live on in her friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that gifts be made to The Birches in Concord, NH, the memory care home where Jackie was treated like family or to whichever of her many passions are closest to the donor’s heart.
