The importance of thinking of other people. Jim and I became acquainted many years ago when we were both in the Housewares industry. We became friends when we served on various advisory boards and committees. I always tried to associate with knowledgeable and classy people and Jim always filled those two qualities. One of the things I learned from Jim was to think of other people. That message became evident when we were at a trade show. When I get back to the hotel that evening the message light on my phone was blinking. I called down to the desk and they told me I had an envelope to pick up. It was from Jim and it contained a copy of a newspaper ad for one of our products that he saw in the local newspaper. His handwritten note just said, " Harv, I saw this in today's local paper and thought you would like a copy. Jim.

It taught me a very valuable lesson which I have remembered and emulated all these years with many friends of mine. That is the one of the definitions of class that I learned from Jim.

The reason for this late remembrance, is that for some reason I thought about him and Joan and Googled his name. I'm glad I did and give our sincere condolences to his family. One last thought. Hartz Mountain threw great parties at the International Housewares Show. They served to biggest and freshest shrimps and Jim was always the perfect host.

Wonderful memories.
