Janice Jacobs Obituary
Mrs. Janice Hopkins Jacobs, 81, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Born, March 4, 1941, in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Marie Speight Hopkins and the late Charles Z. Hopkins, Jr. Mrs. Janice was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Cheraw, SC and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed travelling, flowers, photography, and watching birds, especially hummingbirds. Janice also enjoyed getting her hair and nails done and shopping.
Along with her parents, listed above, Janice was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, her loving husband of 57 years, Scott Jacobs; and her sisters, Wanda Hopkins Haire, and Judy Hopkins Hall.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Richard "Richie" Scott Jacobs, Jr. (Shannon) of Cheraw, SC; daughters, Dana Jacobs Evans (Brad) of Pageland, SC, and Ann Jacobs Smith (Steve) of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Brittany Harpe (Graham), Dustin McKenzie (Sara), Grayson Mills (Richard), Mallory Smith (Brent), Scott Smith, Storm Jacobs (Emily), Bailey Jacobs, Madison Jacobs, Cruise Jacobs, and Aleiya Evans; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cheraw, SC.
The family will receive friends following the service at the Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the SC Chapter of ALS Foundation, 130 Gardners Circle PMB 622, Johns Island, SC 29455.
