Jennifer Kaye Gateley

Jennifer Kaye Gateley of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the age of 63. Jennifer was born on November 20, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at St. John Hospital to her loving parents, Eddie and Helen (Colombe) Thornton.
Jennifer's life was beautifully intertwined with the story of her love and partnership with Michael Gateley. Their journey began in 2011 when they crossed paths at Victory Church, and in February of 2012, they embarked on their shared adventure of love. Their love story culminated in a joyous marriage ceremony in June of the same year, uniting their hearts in holy matrimony.
Throughout her professional life, Jennifer was a dedicated Corporate Accountant. She pursued her education with determination, earning her bachelor's degree from Rogers State University in Claremore. She also worked as a substitute teacher all around the Tulsa area where the commitment to her work and her desire to contribute to her community was evident in every endeavor.
Jennifer was a cherished member of Millennial Church, where her voice graced the choir with its melodious presence. Her personality was a delightful blend of being conversational yet straightforward - a "what you see is what you get" individual. Her infectious optimism was a constant source of upliftment to her family and friends. Jennifer had a profound love for old movies, gardening, music, and the breathtaking natural landscapes created by God.
Jennifer is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Gateley, Michael's daughters, Kelly Douglas and Kendall Shelton, devoted son, Joshua Wommack, and his wife, Kylie, as well as two adoring grandchildren, all of Pryor, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her loving mother, Helen Myers and brother Michael Thornton. Jennifer is preceded in death by her father, Eddie Thornton, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy in the hearts of those she touched.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Jennifer's memory will be held at 2:00 PM on October 4, 2023, at Millennial Church, 6355 E Skelly Dr, Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Pastor Paul Brady officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service & Cremation Care Centers, located at 1329 East 151st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033.
