A memorial service for Jerry Sue Edwards Trammell, 79, will be Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at St. Barnabus Episcopal Church in Hartselle, AL with Father Dave Basinger officiating. There will be a reception immediately following for the family to receive friends. A private burial will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery at a later time.
Mrs. Trammell went to meet her lord on December 19, 2023 at Decatur-Morgan Hospital with her daughter and special friend, Summer Evans by her side. She was born June 5, 1944, in Hanceville, AL to Jerry Curby Edwards and Leslie Smith Edwards.
Sue was a member of St. Barnabus Episcopal Church where she served in any way needed. She was a member of the Decatur Pilot Club and Beta Sigma Phi sorority both of which she was extremely proud. She was a faithful worker at the Committee on Church Cooperation and Hands Across Decatur. She will be greatly missed.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Trammell and her infant son, Brent Trammell. Her parents, Curby and Leslie Edwards and her brother, Terry Dion Edwards.
Survivors include her daughter Monica Trammell Brewer (Curtis), her Grandchildren Clancy Hensley (Richard), Sloane Brewer (Thomas Reber) and Braxton Brewer (Brittney) and her Great Grandchildren, Azalie, Anthony, Auburn and Ellie.
Sue loved her lord, loved her family, loved her friends and life in general. She was an avid traveler and never missed a chance to "go somewhere new". She loved to read, loved music and took great joy in telling you about "my kids". We will miss you but we know that when we see you again you will be the one wearing "the sparkly robe".
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to her favorite charities:
