On July 24, 1940, a precious gift was given to the late Ann Ophelia Morris-Cook and Joffre Cook Sr., whom they named Joffre Errol Cook Jr. This miracle happened in the Windy City of Chicago, Illinois, at St. Luke's Hospital. Joffre was an only child.
He attended school in Chicago, Illinois. Later, he furthered his his education attending Austin Community College in Austin, TX and was employed with the Veteran's Administration.
Joffre served in the United States Army, traveling extensively through Korea as well as two tours in Vietnam. His service to the military ended at Ft. Hood, TX. From Joffre's first marriage to Helen Ward Cook, he fathered three (3) children, Joffre Errol Cook III, Sharon Ann Cook, (deceased) Joan Cook-Robinson. On July 22, 1970, he married the "Love of His Life", Lennie M. Nobles-Cook. She was that twinkle in his eye for 52 years, until the Lord called him home. They were both Leo's which allowed them to understand each other well.
Joffre accepted Christ at a young age. In his union with Lennie, he joined Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist church and was baptized. He received his Preaching License, Sunday, April 13, 1986. He received a Certificate for Ministry Official Credentials from Providence Primitive Baptist church Association of Bastrop County. He assisted Pastor Miles with New Members Orientation. Updated the Church Directory and established a souvenir booklet. He was the Bible Expositor for Providence Primitive Baptist District Association.
Joffre was one of the Associate Ministers at Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church from the Lord called him to Pastor Willie Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, September 19, 2006. He stepped down as Pastor 2017, remained Pastor Emeritus until his death.
On Monday, December 12, 2022, Joffre Errol Cook Jr., was called to his heavenly home, to his Father, God love him most. He leaves to cherish his memories, his lovely wife, Lennie for 52 year, two (2) children, Joffre Errol Cook III, Joan Cook-Robinson, 7 (seven) granchildren, sixteen (16) great grandchildren, two (2) great-great grandchildren, all from Chicago. Others he held dear were Ryan, Roberson, La Darius Martin, Kevin Mitchell and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and associates, all who will miss him dearly.
