John Fewell Anderson, 70, of Greenville, husband of Judy Gulledge Anderson, died Monday, July 10, 2023.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Waddy Anderson, Jr. and Ethel Bernice DuBose.
Johnny loved and was loved by his family and scores of lifelong friends. He was a gentle spirit, a strong and peaceful man, a doting husband, an amazing dad, and an exceptional Papa to his grandkids. Johnny was a longtime member of First Baptist Greenville and worked there for the last decade of his life, affectionately known to the kids of the day school as "Mister Johnny" or "Peter Rabbit." He loved listening to music, enjoyed time with his "yacht club" friends at Camp Roddy, and cheering on his Gamecocks.
He is survived by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Jude; his daughters, Anna Goldston (Michael) and Elizabeth Warlick (Josh); his grandchildren, Mary Grace and Jack Goldston, Orion and Harrison Warlick; and his siblings, Andy (June), Charlie, and Cretia.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Walt; and step-mom, Allene Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at First Baptist Church Greenville, with a visitation to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Greenville,https://firstbaptistgreenville.com/

A great man that will be missed! Loved his Jude, family, church, friends and Gamecocks. On many game days Johnny could be found with fellow dengaters (friends that didn´t get to Cola to stadium) cheering on our team through
thick and thin, always looking forward to the next season! Johnny´s spirit will always be with the dengaters as we cheer our team on to victory. Forever To Thee! We love you Johnny

Such a great guy!! He was over at our house a lot growing up playing tennis with my brothers. He would ride us around in his blue bug and let us drive! He will truly be missed!! Jackie R McLeod

To Jude and the entire Anderson Family - I am fortunate to have known Johnny since Greenville High School days, and he was always the most pleasant, courteous persons you would ever want to know. I especially remember the great times we both shared while playing on the Greenville High tennis team. Johnny was a great teammate, and someone you could always count on. I will dearly miss Johnny. May he rest in peace.
