John Schou Obituary

Published by Macy Allnutt Funeral Service-Eaton Chapel on Jul. 1, 2008.
John H. Schou III, 22, died July 1, 2008 in his Fort Collins home. Johnny was born June 19, 1986 in Fort Collins to John Schou Jr. and Bonnie Kilpatrick. He attended Riffenburgh, Lesher, and was a 2005 graduate of Fort Collins High School. Johnny was a very bright, creative, and compassionate person, known for his quiet leadership. He had a great sense of humor. When he was younger, he was involved in soccer, basketball, and baseball. Music became his passion. He was a talented musician and songwriter. He played in the Fort Collins High School Orchestra and later worked at the Blasting Room Studio as an intern and recording engineer. He was very proud of the work he did on Rise Against's platinum album, "The Sufferer and the Witness." Johnny was currently the bassist for the local band Tickle Me Pink, recently signed by Wind-up Records. In his words, "Every day I aspire to be something more, to create something amazing, to make something that I can be proud of, to do anything that gives purpose to my life." He definitely left his mark on this world in the short time he was with us and was an inspiration to all. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Kilpatrick; his father, John Schou; sisters Erin and Shannon Schou; grandmothers Roberta Kilpatrick and Virginia Schou; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at the Lincoln Center on July 10, 2008 at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Johnny Schou Memorial Fund or to the Fort Collins High School Orchestra., both in care of Allnutt. Online information will be available at Www.myspace.com/ticklemepinkmusic or www.allnutt.com. Johnny was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed. "The darkest hours hold the brightest dreams"... and yes, Johnny, We All Dream.
