John Wiese Obituary

He graduated from Howard High School in 1975. After High School John worked at a couple shoe stores as well as in the sporting goods businesses. He also ran his own shoe store for a while and worked at Cabela's. John was a long-time umpire, was state board officer with 2 years as President, and volunteer for ASA/USA Softball SD.
He played and umpired in the Mitchell leagues. The State UIC, Terry James, named John Fastpitch UIC in the Mitchell Area. He was a member of the State Softball Umpire Association for many years and served as VP for a short period. John was also President of the State Men's Fastpitch Softball, serving for over 15 years. He was on the State Youth Fastpitch Board. John also volunteered at the Youth Slow-pitch State Tournaments for years in various cities in South Dakota. He enjoyed softball and loved to help where needed. John was also involved with Mitchell's Trap shooting program for years. He also bought and sold guns and antiques. He is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn, and twin brothers in infancy.
