Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

Although I never met Joseph Awad,I discovered a book of his poetry, "Shenandoah Long Ago" on a visit to my parents who lived in Weston Place, PA. I grew up there and attended Catholic School in Shenandoah.
The poetry book titled "Shenandoah Long Ago" ,caught my eye in an antique shop in Shenandoah, on a day I was visiting my parents. I now live in Massachusetts but have fond memories of my childhood in Shenandoah. I loved this collection of poems, it brought back memories: "Games", we played these almost any lovely summer night;"Days of the Silver Screen", we really loved the Saturday matinees, in my early teens,I would meet a boy there, he would buy a box of candy for me and try to hold my hand; "Going Back" , but you can't go home again. The poems about his Mother are deeply moving.
So thank you,
M in Ma

I am a colleague of Chris' at CMA in St. Louis. My thoughts and prayers are with you from afar. Chris has been a wonderful addition to our staff. I am sure his kindness and solid values are a reflection of his father's (and mother's) guiding hand. I am sorry for your loss, and I hope your family finds strength in your shared love and spiritual beliefs.

It is with a tremendous feeling of sadness to learn of Joe’s death. My first meeting with him was a job interview at Reynolds. He asked me why I wanted the job. My answer was short and by the time I had driven back to Southside VA he had called to ‘invite’ me to join Reynolds. Being the first Black American executive in the department and one of the few in the Company Joe was always there as friend, boss and mentor. Joe Awad was a good man.

I was sorry to hear of Mr Awad's passing. He was a gracious and wise man, a delightful, insightful poet. We'll miss one of the "good guys". My condolences to Jeannie and the rest of Mr Awad's family.

When they list the outstanding people who shaped the public relations professin in America, Joe Awad is at the top of the heap. He set high ethical standards. When I became president of the Public Relations Society of America in 1991, I looked to Joe as my role model. He was always willing to share his wisdom and provide pragmatic counsel. He was a carrying and gentle man who will be missed by all who knew him.
