Juanita "Jackie" Sims

Juanita Jacqueline Thurston Sims, “Jackie,” went home to be with the Lord in the early hours of Tuesday Morning, April 30, 2024. 

Jackie was born December 27, 1944, to Oscar James and Beatrice Mary Thurston. She was raised in Goochland County and lived there her entire life. 

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her half-brother, Don Nicholson, her husband, Harry W. Sims, and her son, Michael G. Sims “Tink.” She is survived by her son, Jeffrey W. Sims (Leslie), and her grandsons, Michael J. Sims and Tyler M. Sims (Brandi), who were the apples of her eye. 

Jackie enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She loved meeting and talking to new people. She spent much of her days with her dog, Daisy, going on walks to the creek. She enjoyed Bible study, being with the ladies from the Church, and learning more about the Bible. 

We will gather to honor and remember Jackie’s life on Saturday, May 18 at 11 AM at Ragland Memorial Baptist Church, a place that held a special significance for her during the last two years of her life. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ragland Memorial Baptist Church and Goochland County Fire and Rescue.
