Judy Ann Johnson was born in Moline, Illinois to Harold and Margaret Coultis. She came to Las Cruces, New Mexico with her family when she was seven years old. Judy considered herself now to be a native of New Mexico.
Judy retired from NASS SRS USDA after 32 years. She had also been employed at the local Sam’s Club for six years, as well as being a special part of the family at Sierra Vista Community Church, Las Cruces.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gary Johnson; son Darrell Walker and wife, Kori; daughter-in-law Sandy Matkin; son, Brandon Johnson and wife, Nellie; brother, Joe Coultis; sister-in-law, Bobbie and husband, Greg Head; sister-in-law, Phyllis Johnson; and dear friends Leslie Tice, Francis Nunez and Pat Yandell (“go Zeke’s.”)
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Coultis; son, Tommy Matkin; daughter, Carrie Lynn Johnson; and brother-in-law, Bill Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 6 at 10:00 am at Sierra Vista Community Church, 514 N. Telshor Blvd. (directly behind T-Mobile), Las Cruces, NM, with Pastor Ruben Ortega officiating.
Arrangements provided by Getz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to American Cancer Society.
