I am saddened to see this. When my annual Christmas card was returned I did not know how to find her. Today I finally did. When I first moved to Austin I was part of her job search support group and we became friends. Although I have not seen her in the past 5-8 years, I think of her fondly. My thoughts and prayers go out to her remaining family.

Janie, condolence for your sister. My grandfather was extremely proud of Julia as an outstanding student
at the UT German Department. She certainly achieved a lot!

My life was richer for having known Julia. She was a thoughtful friend and one-time neighbor--interested and interesting.
What a life well-lived!
Warm regards to Gail and Janie.

I learned so much from Julia and will miss her greatly..she was such a positive influence on my life. We had great times together in Austin, at Smith College in Northhampton, Mass and in Germany..no one can take her place.
