Kathleen Wolcott Smith (nee Brady)
On Friday, January 10, our mother and beloved sister, Aunt, and friend went to be with our Lord and her husband Greg.
Kathleen was born on May 29, 1936, in Big Clifty, KY to the late Wolcott and Donna Brady. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in Memphis, TN, she assisted with reading classes in the elementary school at St. Williams Parish. During that time, Kathleen (or "Mickey" as she was known by her siblings and close friends), met and married the love of her life, Greg in 1956. To this love, they were blessed with 3 children: Molly Smith (Ted), Janet Smith, and Patty Smith. Kathleen is also survived by her sister Ann and many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was such a light in this sometimes-dark world and she will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She touched the lives of so many people across multiple generations. During her time with us, she made a point always to help anyone with whatever she could, never second-guessing her decision. Anyone who knows Kathleen knows that her family meant everything to her and in her eyes, each of you reading this was family. Her love of life was evident in the way she lived. Even just sitting on the deck, turned into a fun time with family, friends, and of course food!
Kathleen's funeral Mass will be held on January 23, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Bridget of Kildare Parish (5620 Hauserman Rd, Parma, Oh, 44130). Information regarding the reception will be provided after the service. Because of her father's long-term commitment from the inception of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Kathleen has always been a supporter. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St Jude's. Online Donations - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
