Kathleen was a Blue Bird Girl and Camp Fire Girl in elementary school and graduated from Englewood High School in 1964. For the past 20 years she served faithfully as President of Area Rugs Manufacturing Company, Inc. Kathleen was a member of Church of the Messiah, attending many of the Ladies Retreats organized by the church. She loved working in her yard (which she said was like therapy for her), crocheting, doing crafts and putting together puzzles (which helped her relax).
She married her husband, Robert Henry Thomson, on May 7. 1976. They loved taking trips together, going to the beach to fish and looking for shark's teeth and spending time with their family. Robert worked many years in the finance industry and retired as a priest.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert, her sister Annetta (Ken) Lipman and niece Naomi Lipman; her children Christina (Bobby) Crowder, Kimberly (Sean) Crisp, Linda (Paul) Bibeau, Thomas (Jennifer) Thomson and her feline children Libby, Baby and Scooter. She is also survived by her grandchildren Erika Crisp, Melissa Crisp, Stephanie (Nikita) Petrenko, Mark (Catherine) Barley, Jennifer (Chase) Hughes, Brittany (Aaron) Lamon, Geoffrey (Sarrah) Thomson, Hillary (Cameron) Forsberg, Jeremy (Megan) Bibeau, Zachary Thomson, Danielle Strickland, Audrey Thomson, Julia Thomson and Mary Ann Thomson; great grandchildren Rebecca Barley, Isabella Barley, Jude Amaru, Veda Amaru, Maryn Hughes, Clara Hughes and Vianne Petrenko.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Eternity Funeral Home 4856 Oakdale Avenue; Jacksonville, FL 32207. Please contact Eternity Funeral Home 904-348-5579 with questions about the memorial service. Kathleen loved cats, and rescued many of them in her neighborhood, making sure they had veterinary care, and found them good homes. The family requests memorial donations be made in her memory to First Coast No More Homeless Pets, Attn: Fund Development, 6817 Norwood Avenue; Jacksonville, FL 32208.
