Laura Joseph Shannon

Laura Joseph Shannon died peacefully at home May 4, 2023. She was 58 years old. Laura was born on December 22, 1964 to Christine (Wasik) and Peter Joseph.
Laura lived by Christian values through the kindness she showed to others, supporting many charities as a volunteer and financial contributor. She was awarded the Diamond Award by Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry for her outstanding service. She had a heart for animals, and cared for stray cats as well as her family's and friend's pets.
Laura enjoyed spending time with her family and supporting her children's passions. She was an avid supporter of Oakland Basketball and a dedicated dance mom. She enjoyed watching television and movies with her children, especially Star Wars and reality TV.
An amazingly strong and dedicated woman, she battled metastatic breast cancer for 10 years, all the while working up until her final days, providing for her family, and enjoying her time with her beloved coworkers.
Laura is survived by her beloved husband, Sean, and three children, Regan (Roxanne) Shannon, Colin Shannon, and Ava Shannon. She is also survived by her mother Christine Joseph, and her siblings Steven (Tammy) Joseph, Jeffery (Laura) Joseph, and Jennifer (Jack) Pellegrino. Also surviving are her uncles Francis Joseph and John Joseph, and her cousins Lisa (Chuck) Ruggirello, Christopher Joseph (Adrienne), and Julie (Marc) Sieracki. Laura also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Peter Joseph, her brother Daniel Joseph, and her uncle Roger Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 3-7pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 Crooks Rd., Clawson, MI 48017. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 10am at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 Twelve Mile Rd., Royal Oak, MI 48073.
