Mrs. Laura Kate Carr was born on December 9, 1951, to Cashell and Lucy Williams in Griffin Spalding County, Georgia. She received her formal education at Fairmont High School in Griffin, Georgia.
Mrs. Laura Kate Carr accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and embraced her faith and became a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Ms. Laura Kate Williams met the love of her life Mr. Levie Carr and was united in holy matrimony in April 1999, in Griffin, Georgia.
Mrs. Laura Kate Williams-Carr was employed by Dundee Mills and Carter Mills as a Weaver for many years. In her leisure time she enjoyed taking care of her children and others, shopping, and she loved going to Church.
On Friday, November 22, 2024, our Heavenly Father called Mrs. Laura Kate Williams-Carr home, where she will forever dwell in his presence. She is set free from all sickness and pain. Rest now in peace and comfort, your journey has ended, battle fought, and victory won. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levie Carr; her parents, Cashell and Lucy Williams; her siblings, Cassie Williams, James Williams, Charles Williams, Wayne Williams, and Dan Williams.
Mrs. Laura Kate Williams-Carr leaves a lasting legacy, full of memories to be cherished in the hearts of her loving and devoted children, Michelle Williams, Latonya (Jacoby) Williams, Kemion McCrary, Gwenetta (Fred) Burns, and Zenitra Carr; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; brothers, George Williams, and Willie Morris (Jane) Crowder; and her sister-in-law, Ola Mae Owens. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, who will continue to honor her legacy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 Pm at Burden's Funeral Home. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Burden's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour to the service hour. Pastor Anthony Williams is the Eulogist.
