Lino Torres, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Born on July 11, 1937, and raised on a ranch in Runge, Texas, Lino lived a full and spirited life rooted in the values of family, tradition, and simple joys.
A true cowboy at heart, Lino grew up riding horses and embracing ranch life. He carried that rugged, hardworking spirit throughout his life. He found joy in spending time with his family, especially watching his sons and grandsons tinker with cars- a shared passion that often brought the family together in laughter and learning.
Lino was a Constable here and San Antonio, he moved to Houston and worked at Domco and as a machinist here he retired in 2002. When he returned back to San Anotnio and his wife started working for McDonald's he joined the team. In 2011, the couple was honored as Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus for McDonald's Grandparents Fun, a joyful recognition that included a limo ride with Ronald McDonald and a memorable trip to Universal Studios in Florida
Lino cherished the outdoors. Whether it was camping trips, fishing down in Houston, TX and Canyon Lake, or going hunting, he found peace and happiness in nature and in the company of loved ones. His deep love for his wife, Clemencia, was evident in the many dances they shared and the music that filled their lives.
A man who loved to play, Lino was an enthusiastic card player and especially enjoyed games like Lotería. His playful spirit and quick wit made him a favorite companion at any table.
Lino Torres will be remembered for his kind heart, cowboy soul, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Clemencia Torres, sons, Enrique Lino Torres and Paul Torres, parents, and siblings.
Lino will be dearly missed by his 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren
