Lorraine Nye Harris (1936-2023) passed away on the evening of Thursday, August 3, 2023 in her home in Bountiful, Utah. Born on November 6, 1936 in Evanston, Wyoming to Ernest Edward and Ruth Naomi Nye. She grew up in Paris, Idaho where she attended Fielding High School graduating in 1955. She was class secretary and always talked fondly of the classmates and friends that she missed.
She had a strong and personal testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lorraine's greatest love was being outside, doing yard work and tending to anything that bloomed, especially tulips and flowers. If the sun was shining, chances were, mom was outside.
Lorraine leaves a legacy of her farm in Paris where her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have cherished memories of the time they spent with her there including picnics in the mountains, hiking to the head of the creek, and walks picking wildflowers. Like her dad, she had a deep love for whiskered friends that purr. She couldn't bear the thought of any stray being cold or hungry and did her best to take care of as many as she could.
She fought through each day of her 86 ½ years of life with courage and amazing determination, even through her very last breaths.
Lorraine is survived by her twin brother Larry Nye, four children Allen (LeeAnn) Harris, JoAnn (Robert) Edminster, Alayna Harris, Crissy (Brent) McFarland, ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Wednesday, August 9th in Paris, Idaho.
