With heavy hearts and profound gratitude, we announce the passing of Louis 'Jack' Green, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully at the age of 80. Jack passed away in his cherished hometown of Jack Primus, South Carolina, surrounded by the love of his family on August 23, 2024.
Born and raised in Jack Primus, Jack was a pillar of strength and kindness throughout his life. He was deeply devoted to his wife of 55 years, Virginia Green, who was his partner in every sense of the word. Together, they built a family grounded in love, respect, and unwavering support.
Jack's legacy lives on through his adoring children: Christopher Broughton, Robin Green-Harleston, Mohummad(Sonia) Green, Dameon (Juanita) Green and Kevin (Claudette) Shirer. His love for his children was boundless, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Jack's warmth and wisdom were passed down to his Grandchildren Eric (Kyla) Harleston, Jessica Cash, Ashley (Daniel) Smalls, Lauren Harleston, Kristina Broughton, Ridge Peterson, Amber Wilson, Daizha Green, Amaiya Green, London Green, and Kevin Shirer Jr.-each of whom he cherished deeply and watched grow with great joy.
Jack was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, who brought him boundless joy and laughter. His role as a great-grandparent was one of the many titles he wore with pride, filling their lives with love and playful moments.
In addition to his immediate family, Jack is survived by his loving siblings: Aaron (Queenie) Green, Robert Lee (Vernell) Green, Laura Green, Calvin (Marva) Green, Juanita Green Kinloch, and Samuel Green. Sisters-in-law:Rebecca 'Dot' Green, Evelyn Green, Bertha Mae Brown, and Melvina Brown. Brothers-in-law: Nathaniel (Ruth) Brown and Earl (Angela) Brown. His deep connections with his siblings were a source of comfort and strength throughout his life.
Jack Green was a man of great integrity, generosity, and kindness. His humble demeanor, coupled with his infectious smile, made him a friend to many and a guiding light for those who knew him. Whether through his acts of service, his words of wisdom, or simply his presence, Jack touched countless lives.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we take solace in the countless memories he leaves behind. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us..
Louis Green's memory will forever be a beacon of love, kindness, and family. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
