Margaret A. "Margie" Gallagher

Margaret A. "Margie" Gallagher, 89 of Wall Township passed away on Tuesday February 1, 2022, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune with her loving family by her side. Margie was born and raised in Jersey City. She graduated from St Aloysius Academy, Holy Name School of Nursing and received her BS from Jersey City State College. Margie was a nurse for over 40 years working at Holy Name Hospital, St Mary's Hospital, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center, and MCOSS. Margie had lived in Elizabeth, Neptune, Elberon before retiring in 1993. Margie then moved to Hilton Head, SC and had lived there until 2002 when she returned to Wall Township. While in South Carolina Margie volunteered with Well Baby Clinics. Margie was a communicant and an active member of St Rose Church, Belmar, Pride of Wall Seniors, Women of Irish Heritage Jersey Shore, Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians, and several quilting clubs.
Margie was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Donald P. Gallagher in 2013, her son Kevin Gallagher in 2001, and son-in-law Gary Heid in 2007. She is survived by her loving children Kathleen Heid of Long Branch and Brian Gallagher and his wife Ellen of Wall, and her daughter-in-law Cathy Berardini Gallagher of Wall. Margie was the cherished grandmother to Dennis Heid and Mary Catherine Gallagher
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 3-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon on Friday February 4, 2022, at St Rose Church, 603 7th Avenue, Belmar, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
