Margaret Mary Pribyl was born April 28, 1951, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to John "Jack" and Doris (Elsenpeter) Pribyl. Margi grew up in Maple Lake and attended grade school at St. Timothy Catholic School. She graduated high school from Maple Lake with the Class of 1969. Following her graduation, Margi attended the University of Minnesota. On August 3, 1974, she was united in marriage to Kevin C. Kronquist at St. Timothy Catholic Church. They made their home in Key West, Florida, before moving back to Minnesota to raise their two sons. While her sons were young, Margi worked as a special education paraprofessional for the Annandale Middle School, as well as a gardener for Gardendale and ski instructor at Powder Ridge in Kimball. In 2000, Margi became a flight attendant for Northwest/Delta Airlines, retiring in 2014. The skies were no doubt friendlier when Margi was in the air.
Her sons, Tommy and Michael, were practically raised at Powder Ridge from age 3 on up. Here, Margi was beloved as 2nd Mom to many of their friends at Powder Ridge. Below zero or not, she and Kron were always attending their snowboarding competitions, cheering on everyone.
Margi was most at home when giving tours of her flower gardens, helping her friends with their garden, and touring gardens from here to Japan to Amsterdam.
After Kevin passed away, Margi fortunately found her 2nd soulmate, Larry. He rejuvenated her soul and provided another lease on life. Together, they traveled the world, venturing all over the states, many times to Mexico and even all the way to Australia. Hand in hand, they were able to attend countless weddings, plays, social gatherings, and local music outings.
Kevin's plan was to retire from winters in the Keys. Margi and Larry were able to fulfill this destiny with many trips to Key West and Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Her children would receive endless photos of the fresh fish they were eating, kayaking, snorkeling, yoga, aqua aerobics, and meeting new friends.
Mom lived for her grandchildren. She would make every effort to attend each and every recital, sport events, school functions, birthdays, skiing/snowboarding, and babysitting; anything to be around them as much as she could.
She made her friends her family and had A LOT of friends. Margi will be remembered for her smile and openness to talk to anyone. No matter what their backgrounds, beliefs or lifestyle, she welcomed everyone with an open heart, big smile, and a hug. In her honor, let's all smile more and love thy neighbor.
Margi is survived by her sons, Tommy (Kristy) of Duluth and Mike (Carrie) of Loretto; 4 grandchildren, McKenna, Ava, Holden and Evelyn; her significant other, Larry Czarnecki of Apple Valley; siblings, John (Barb) Pribyl of Crosslake, Marie (Randy) Mavencamp of Maple Lake, Fred (special friend, Martha Ocampo) Pribyl of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Ted (Angie) Pribyl of Maple Lake; sisters-in-law, Karen (Randy) Lucht of Hawley and Kim (Garry) Kieves of Minnetonka; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin; parents, Jack and Doris; brother, George; infant sister, Susan; infant great-niece, Kesha Marie; niece, Melissa; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karla and Roger Bentrup; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Myrtle and Onni Kronquist.
