Margaret A. "Peggy" O'Donnell

Margaret A. "Peggy" O'Donnell, of Braintree, a cherished soul who graced this world with her kindness and warmth, passed away on August 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 25, 1938, in Hornell, NY, Peggy was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Marion (Kelly) Wattles. Her journey through life was marked by a deep love for her family and the simple pleasures that brought her joy.
Peggy graduated from Hornell High School in New York, where she formed many friendships. Her professional life was dedicated to the real estate industry, where she worked for many years as a property manager. Her colleagues and residents remember her as a beacon of positivity and professionalism, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand.
In her personal life, Peggy was the loving wife of the late Arthur J. O'Donnell, Jr., with whom she shared many wonderful years. She was a devoted mother to her children, Daniel O'Donnell and his wife Cheryl of FL, Thomas O'Donnell and his wife Lisa of Wilmington, and the late James O'Donnell, survived by his wife Debra O'Donnell of Braintree. Peggy's love extended to her sister, the late Anita Maguire and her family.
Known affectionately as "Grandma Peggy," she held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, Heidi Burns and her husband Keith, Mike O'Donnell and his wife Traci, Ryan O'Donnell, Danielle O'Donnell and her fiancé Jimmy Dewald, Kevin O'Donnell, and Carina O'Donnell. She was also the Great Grandma to Abby, Callie, Cameron, Holly, Ryder, Emma, and James. Peggy's legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on through the stories and memories shared by her family.
Peggy was an avid reader where she found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. The beach was her haven, vacationing for many years in Myrtle Beach where she basked in the sun and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Humor was a cornerstone of her life, and she never passed up the chance to enjoy a funny movie.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Christine Cizmar, Dina Guzman, Maria DeJesus and countless others at Artis Memory Care in Reading for their extraordinary care and compassion towards Peggy. Her gentle spirit and infectious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
