Marian McCann-Zolna Obituary

Visit the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes - Floral Park website to view the full obituary.
Proud New Yorker Marian was born to Margaret and Arthur McCann in the Bronx. Arthur and Peggy were Irish immigrants, and Marian kept that Celtic spirit close to her heart and made sure she visited Ireland many times and even obtained her own Irish citizenship. She grew up in an Irish Catholic household with her older brothers, Artie and Johnny, and her younger sisters, Trisha and Kathy. Catholic schooling continued throughout her life as she went on to teach in three different Catholic elementary schools. She retired from teaching after 38 wonderful years having taught thousands of children.
She was a loving wife to Joseph for 46 years; a dear mother to Heather, John, and Aislinn; and a fun and joyous Mae Mae to her four grandchildren.
She enjoyed traveling to Europe, reading, gardening, bike riding, and spending time with family.
We ask that you raise a glass in Marian's honor, blare some Rolling Stones or Irish music and do a jig, or consider donating to one of the charities below in lieu of sending flowers:
