Mark Robert Lee was born to Beverly Duran (Miller) (deceased) and Benjamin Markly Lee (deceased) on December 21, 1958, in Denver, CO. Mark grew up in Denver and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1978.
Mark joined the Colorado Air National Guard in 1978 and became an Aircraft Metals Technology Specialist, Structural Specialist, and Machinist. He also worked as a Vehicle Management and Analysis Specialist, and Vehicle and Vehicular Equipment Maintenance Specialist. Mark retired as a Master Sergeant in July 2005. He then worked as a Grounds Maintenance Worker at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In 2006 he was offered an opportunity as a contract worker overseas. He worked on the flightline in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Kyrgyzstan, in the Motor Pool in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a Secured Warehouse Worker and the flightline in Afghanistan. He retired from overseas work in 2015 and traveled from his place of residence in Fort Collins, Colorado to Texas volunteering at a Texas Army Corp of Engineers Park during the winter months. In the spring, Mark looked forward to heading north to enjoy the Minnesota summers on Little Toad Lake and the friends he'd made there.
Mark spent many years playing fast pitch softball and basketball and watching March Madness. He loved Military Aircraft, bird hunting, and fly fishing. There were several pets in his life, and they were all special to him, whether a hunting dog or a lap dog, and even one street smart tomcat.
Mark is survived by sons Mark Robert Lee Jr., Christopher Benjamin Lee, daughter, Celina Nicole Lee, and former spouse, Christy Lane Lee. Siblings: Thomas Burlace (Debbie), Kimberly Wynkoop (Rusty), Cheryl Stombaugh (Mike), Michael Lee (deceased), and Doug Lee (Diane), two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on October 16, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., staging area C (North Gate off of Sheridan Blvd.). Celebration of Life will be held at Doghouse Tavern, 3100 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80227 starting at 11:00 a.m.
