Mary Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vistoso Funeral Home on May 26, 2022.
Mary Lou Davis went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2022. Mary was born on December 11, 1945 in Delano, CA, the sixth of the eight children of Rhulin and Mollie May Bloodworth. Mary's childhood was challenged by the sudden death of her mother at age nine, which resulted in the family being scattered. She spent her remaining youth in the foster care system.
Mary recognized at a young age that God had a calling on her life and she set out to seek Him. With His help she developed a lifelong gift to comfort, bless, and lead others to Christ.
Mary married the love of her life, Gary on July 2, 1971. They were happily married and best friends for over 50 years and had 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous foster children.
Mary used her gifts in several ways. Her own childhood inspired her to help children who were raised in difficult circumstances. This was exemplified through her time working for DSHS giving back to the foster care system and her decade of service at the alternative high school in Snohomish, WA. Mary also enjoyed blessing her friends and neighbors with her talent as a florist.
Mary's faith and love of Jesus was the cornerstone of her life. She was a faithful attendee of Monroe Four-Square church in Monroe, WA and Hope Community Church in Oro Valley, AZ. She spent many years and touched many lives as a Sunday School teacher and leader in Women's Ministries.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Gary, sons Rob (Mari) Davis of Marysville, WA, Daniel (Heather) Davis of Monroe, WA, daughters Kristina (Dave) Bozeman of Kingman, AZ, Shannon (Dan) Christen of Monroe, WA, foster son Darrel (Chris) Deatry of Seattle, WA, sister Sue Bloodworth of Bakersfield, CA, brother Randy (Virgie) Bloodworth of Bakersfield, CA, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mary loved fiercely, was generous almost to a fault, and laughed whole heartedly. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Memorial services will be held at Cascade Community Church, Monroe WA on June 18 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a supportive donation to Angel Tree at www.prisionfellowship.org.
