Born in Perth Amboy, Mary was a lifelong resident of Carteret and held many jobs of which she was well known for around town including Royal Foods for 26 years, Carteret school crossing guard, bus aide with Villani Bus Company and C&S Wholesalers. Mary was a member of the Peoples AME Zion Church in Carteret and was an avid New York Giants and Mets fan who will always be remembered for her infectious smile. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed.
Mary was predeceased by her husband in 2022, Albert Fontaine; grandson, Jeremiah Davall and her brother, Jimmie Hawkes. Surviving are her son, Karlton Davall; granddaughter, Breonna Davall; siblings, Gladys Wilder and Orie Hawkes; her beloved Robert Wilder along with loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 3pm to 5pm at CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading, NJ 07064 with private cremation following.
