Peoria, IL - Mary Patricia "Pat" Lambie, age 93, of Peoria, passed away at 12:25 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at McLean County Nursing Home.
Pat was born October 25, 1930, in Peoria, to Robert and Cecilia (Sweeney) Duncanson. She was raised and educated in Peoria, graduating from the Academy of Our Lady with the class of 1948. She married Jerry Brandow in 1951, and together they raised seven children, until his passing on October 18, 1974. During that time, she received her Master's degree in education and taught at Blaine Sumner, Webster, and Rolling Acres. Pat enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and researching her family's genealogy. She loved her black cats and Pomeranians. Pat was a woman of faith and an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and golf, having started the Women's District 150 golf league. She later married William Lambie.
Bill and Pat moved to Pinehurst, NC in 1985. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister. While her calendar was always full, Pat found time to volunteer at the hospital and the prison. She enjoyed painting, needlework and dancing, as well as belonging to the Red Hat Society. Beyond living life to the fullest, her love of family was her prized possession. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include five children: Jan (Jim) Lindmeier of South Carolina, Bob (Connie) Brandow of Texas, Mike (Chris) Brandow of East Peoria, Chris (Tom) Ryba of North Carolina, and Colleen (Rick) Caldwell of Bloomington; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren with an additional 3 more by May.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, both husband; Jerry Brandow (1974) and Bill Lambie (2007), two sons: John and Tom Brandow; one brother, Robert Duncanson, one sister, Cecilia Roth and one grandson, Will Brandow.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held at Resurrection Mausoleum on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will start at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
