Mary McCormack Obituary
Mary C. McCormack, née Adamo, 82, of Bayville passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. Born in Jersey City, she was raised in Hoboken and returned to Jersey City before moving to Bayville in 1970. Mrs. McCormack was a Legal Secretary for many years with different firms. She retired from Novins York Jacobus & Dooley law firm in Toms River after 20 years there. She was an active communicant of St. Barnabas Church in Bayville and was a life member and past president of their Altar Rosary Society. She also served as a volunteer when Toms River Hospital was Community Memorial Hospital in earlier years.
Mary was totally dedicated to her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially her many trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Her heart held a special place for the rugged beauty she experienced on trips to Alaska and the enchanting allure of Italy, in her most recent adventure with her husband. But her simple quiet joy lay in the daily ritual of sitting with her husband, savoring a coffee and a bagel or roll, while gazing out at the serene beaches of Barnegat Bay and the Toms River.
Surviving is her beloved husband of 61 years, Andrew; a son Rob and his fiancée Lauren; two grandchildren, Bobby and Caroline and her brother Joseph Adamo and his wife Connie; also, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visiting hours will be Friday, Feb. 23rd. from 4pm to 8pm and again on Saturday, Feb. 24th. from 9:30am to 10:30am, at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11am in St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville. Cremation will be private. Flowers are accepted or donations in Mary's memory to: St. Jude Hospital (stjude.org) or Tunnel to Towers (t2t.org) or Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital (mskcc.org), would be appreciated.
