Miguel Angel "Mickey" Martinez

Miguel "Mickey" Angel Martinez entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2022. Beloved husband of Lesly Martinez for 21 years. Loving father of Marisel Candelaria, Marilee Gonzalez, Mirelys Martinez, Militzie Cruz, Michelle Martinez, and Zynnia Martinez. Grandfather of Jony, Mickey, Olivia, Alexis, Felix, Cassandra, Josa Iran, Aracely, Adrian, Mitzie, Ysabel, Ashley, and Mia. Great-grandfather of Violet, Sebastian, Bella, Nijel, Arielle, Ray Ray, Xiomara, Karmelo, Anjelee, Mirani, Caspian, and Romani. Son of the Narcisa Ruiz and the late Daniel Martinez. Also survived by 15 brothers and sister, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Age 81 years, a native of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, and resident of Gretna, LA. Mickey worked for Sun Oil as an engineer as well as a welder, electrician, and fire chief for many years, never missing a day of work until retirement. Mickey was a family man at heart, built the family home himself, and loved spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren. He treated his community like family and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a car enthusiast, an avid sports fan, especially baseball and Saints football, and member of the Toledo Bowling League. He also loved raising his German Shepherds. Mickey also enjoyed playing music with Trio Los Condes. He will be deeply missed by all and leaves a beautiful legacy behind for his loved ones.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 3 PM.
